"Don't ask to ask" is the rule that you should skip the warm-up question -- "Anyone here good with X?" or "Can I ask something?" -- and just post your actual question. Asking for permission to ask adds a round-trip delay and tells helpers nothing. Lead with the real problem and the details instead.
A minimal reproducible example (MRE) is the smallest, complete, runnable piece of code and data that reproduces the problem you are asking about. Minimal means you stripped out everything unrelated; reproducible means anyone who runs it sees the same error. It is the single fastest way to get a useful answer.
"nohello" is the convention that you should not send a lone "hi" or "hello" and then wait for a reply before stating your question. In chat, that forces an idle round-trip while the other person waits for you to continue. Put your greeting and your complete question in a single message instead.
